Towards the end of my interview trail so I was extremely exhausted - don't remember too well.

- Program Disadvantages:
Small program, a little stuffy for me given that they are a mediocre program.
Kaiser Permanente S. California (Los Angeles):
- Applied
- Attended interview
- Interview Experience:
Had 1 extremely awkward interview which totally turned me off to the program. A pity considering I would have enjoyed Los Angeles.
- Program Advantages:
IR is huge here. Looks like Dr.V will keep you up with clinical knowledge - something I feel is lacking.
- Program Disadvantages:
Small Program

Everyone was great - extremely nice.

Really close faculty and residents. Residents were nice and lots of collegiality between faculty and residents. Tends to match residents at Stanford for fellowship.
- Program Disadvantages:
Small program, not that much research.

  U California (Davis):

- Interview Experience:
Awesome. I did an away rotation here so I already knew I would like it. Everyone was so nice, interview day was organized, and noon conference was excellent.
- Program Advantages:
Probably the best program for me in terms of resident fit and location. Unfortunately, extremely interested in an academic career and I had to rank this program #3.
- Program Disadvantages:
As above.

  U Colorado:

- Interview Experience:
A little awkward. The chairman (he's nice) sits in with you while you wait your turn for interviews. Just makes no downtime available to unwind between interviews. I understand where they are coming from.
- Program Advantages:
Great facilities, beautiful campus, IR strong.
- Program Disadvantages:
Faculty is in the rebuilding phase.

- Interview Experience:
I was really impressed by the interview day. The only odd thing was their interview format. I think it was 7 interviewers for 10 minutes. I was extremely nervous. PD is awesome, but she comes off as distant in the interview.
- Program Advantages:
It's Hopkins. You had the huge, older names in radiology. Hugely impressive noon conference. Residents were some of the best, clinically, I've seen on the interview trail. Obviously great training going on here.
- Program Disadvantages:
Residents were smart, but a bit weird.

Massachusetts
  Mass Gen Hosp/Harvard:

Missouri
  St Louis U SOM:
- Applied
- Attended interview
- Interview Experience:
I was put off by the PC's disorganization. We got 1 sheet of paper as our itinerary with no handouts or folders. It was just very sloppy.
- Program Advantages:
It seems like a real up and coming program. Dr. Brown, the Chair, has a lot of great ideas - like holding didactics with MIR.
- Program Disadvantages:
In SLU and still needs a couple years to get to great training. Residents didn't seem to enthused to be there.
  U Missouri at Kansas City:
- Applied
- Attended interview
- Interview Experience:
My first interview. I didn't know what to expect. It was okay.
- Program Advantages:
You get great clinical training here to read high volumes.
- Program Disadvantages:
Put off by one of my interviewers saying that I didn't REALLY want to do academics. Another interviewer told me that residents shouldn't be involved in research. Direct conflict with my goals.
  WUStL/B-JH/SLCH Cnsrt:
- Applied
- Attended interview
- Matched here (Ranked # 1)
- Interview Experience:
Great! Preinterview dinner was one of the best. Residents were nice, normal, and funny.
- Program Advantages:
It's Mallinckrodt - they are hemorrhaging money for radiology research and opportunities. Noon lecture was outstanding. Residents were extremely happy with training (said it was hard), unparalleled education, huge book fund (1000/year), lead, big facult
- Program Disadvantages:
Saint Louis.

Impressive facilities. Awkward interview with Dr. Oldham.
- Program Advantages:
You get to do IR and rotations at MD Anderson. Awesome experience - althought I'm not sure what the PP exp would be like coming out of MD anderson.
- Program Disadvantages:
Dr. Oldham's interview was a little distant, but she told us that was her method. Finding Waldo was a bit of a boiler room technique.
