Interview Experiences

The longest one I had; goes from 8AM-4PM with 5 faculty and 1 chief resident interviews. But there is a lot of down time. Pretty standard 15-20 min interviews.
Interview day was very well organized. Interview with about 4-5 attendings I think + a resident. Low stress interviews.
Strange day. Sit in a room for half the day doing nothing.
Instead of morning/afternoon sessions, they group all applicants together and have you interview sporadically with long breaks between each interview.

Program Advantages

Medium sized program. It is an up and coming rads program in Cali. New pavilion will house ED rads. Great fellowships and research opportunities. A solid academic program. 12k/4yr book allowance. Physics course is provided 3 times while in residency
Friendly atmosphere with happy residents In CA - if thats your thing Some well known faculty.
Good location, great clinical training. Close to Tahoe.
Really nice hospital, great facilities.

Program Disadvantages

It's in Sacramento which isn't the best city. But it is close to Tahoe and SF.
Nothing major. Due to financial crisis in CA (Out of my region) it was unclear if lack of money was going to affect the program. Supposedly some attendings had taken pay cuts. Don't know what impact this will have long term.
Smaller class size = more call. Research not emphasized.
90+ minutes from SF.
